About Mortgage Well
A free toolkit for understanding mortgage math, built by an independent product/software team.
Who builds Mortgage Well
Mortgage Well is built by an independent product/software team focused on transparent mortgage math and educational calculators. We publish under the organization name; team attribution is documented in our editorial policy.
Why we built it
Mortgage math should be explainable, testable, and free. Many calculators on the web hide their assumptions or bury them in fine print; we surface every assumption we use and let you adjust them. Each calculator shows the formula it runs, the assumptions it makes, a worked example, and a clear disclosure that the result is an educational estimate.
What this site is
- A collection of mortgage calculators and plain-English guides.
- Educational only — not a lender, not a broker, not a financial advisor.
- Calculator logic is reviewed for accuracy and clarity using automated tests and documented assumptions. Formulas, inputs, and outputs are visible on each calculator page.
- Privacy-respecting: calculations run in your browser; we do not collect or store the financial inputs you enter. See privacy.
What this site is not
- We do not provide financial advice, tax advice, or legal advice. For decisions about your specific situation, consult a qualified professional.
- We do not produce loan approvals, official Loan Estimates, or Closing Disclosures. Your lender does.
- We do not collect Social Security numbers, credit reports, or applications.
- We do not sell user-entered financial inputs.
How we make money
Mortgage Well is free to use. We may run advertising, affiliate links, or partner integrations to support the site; when we do, we'll disclose them clearly on this page and on every page where they apply. Calculator math, assumptions, and editorial recommendations stay independent of any sponsorship or ad placement. See privacy for the current disclosure.
